Touring Jack's Gulch campground and trails via mountain bike

We went camping up the Poudre River Canyon, outside of Fort Collins, a few weeks ago. Here is some HD GoPro Hero mountain bike footage from the trip. Yea, the old Klein Attitude makes for a bumpy camera mount... I may need to figure something else out for that one of these days. Either way, it's fun to play with! Soundtrack is "Arc Like and Brave" (c) Pete Deichmann, Performance credits; Pete Deichmann- guitars, Pete McNeal - Drums

Twin Peaks Reservoir Jeep Road. Mumy Range, Colorado

Here's about 5 minutes of GoPro Hero footage from the drive to Twin Peaks Reservoir in the Mummy Range in Northern Colorado. I mounted the camera to one of the tow hooks on a Jeep Wrangler. Beautiful views and great camping can be had all along Pingree Park Road. Just follow Highway 14 out of Fort Collins; easy to get to and a great drive up the Poudre Canyon.

Synergy Green Camaro

SYNERGY. Perhaps the most over-used word of the first decade of the new millennium. I'll give it a pass in the case of Chevy's "Synergy Green". Sure, they could have been lessY2K about the name, but what the heck, it's vibrant and reminds me of the massive non-issue of the "Y2K bug".

Here's a late model Chevy Camaro I saw on I-25. I'm not a huge fan of the "New Camaro", but I do like the color, Synergy Green. Shot with a GoPro Hero HD at 30fps. Soundtrack is the outro of "Barking Mask" by velkro kitty. (c) Deichmann, Willetts. Performance credit; Dave Ortz - Drums, Jim Favero - Bass, Pete Deichmann - Guitars.

BMW R1200C Spring Country Ride

Playing with the GoPro HD again. This time it's hard-mounted to the crashbars on the BMW R12C.

A ride around in the country, past Bruce's Saloon in Severance, and on Highway 14 in Northern Colorado.

Soundtrack is Credit Card by Jim Favero. Performed by velkro kitty. (c) 1995 Favero. Performance credits; Jim Favero - Bass and Vocals, Pete Deichmann - Guitars and Vocals, Dave Ortz - Drums

Recorded at Time Capsule Studios in Denver Colorado.

I-25, Mini Cooper Clubman S

Here's a very short set of clips of a Mini Clubman S on I-25 in Colorado. Shot with a GoPro Hero mounted to a BMW R1200C. I used the suction cup arm attached to the windshield which is less than optimal. It creates a lot of vibration. I mellowed the shakes out with Mercalli stabilization software.

The music is by my old band "The Fringe" in Connecticut. Performance credits go to Sultani Trip for the guitar solo, Mark Pozzi on the drums, Craig Welton on Bass, and myself on the acoustic guitar.

BMW R1200C Winter Cycle Ride

Some GoPro Hero footage from a morning ride after the last big snowstorm blew through. It was a beautiful ride but very cold. Even with grip heaters I couldn't feel my fingers when I got back! I shot this with a Go Pro Hero HD camera hard mounted onto one of the luggage rails. I tried to insert some photos "in rhythm" but it didn't work. Maybe I'll try that another time. The soundtrack is Save My Soul by velkro kitty. This particular version was recorded at Time Capsule Studio in Denver, quite a long time ago.

I-25 Drive; Fort Collins to Colorado Springs

Here are some clips from a drive from Fort Collins to Colorado Springs. I condensed the
2 1/2 hour drive to 8 minutes. Recorded with the GoPro HD on a suction mount in the cab. Soundtrack is performed by velkro kitty (c) 1995. "Save My Soul" Jim Favero, "Anglican Chain" Pete Deichmann, Paul McCormick, "Credit Card" Jim Favero

Testing GoPro HD on BMW R1200C

Another test drive on the BMW R1200C around the area with the GoPro HD camera. This time set on r4 and mounted in a different location using the suction cup again; left side of the windshield and lower. I'm not in love with the vibration transmitted to the camera through the mount. I will try hard mounting it to the crash bars in the near future. Also, with the wide angle lens, it is rough to get a close up of anything you are riding by or near.

There is a quick shot of a parked CanAm Spyder and a Harley. There is also a drive by of Bruce's Saloon in Severance, famous worldwide for its Rocky Mountain Oysters. Three varieties available; Beef, Buffalo, and Turkey. Yum.

The soundtrack is "Binaca Breath" and "Come Back" by velkro kitty (c) 1993, 1995 Pete Deichmann, Jim Favero, Paul McCormick.

Electric Motorcycle in Colorado Springs

I spotted this hand engineered Electric Motorcycle in Colorado Springs after having lunch at the Peak Grill. Good place to eat and as a bonus I found this strange gem sitting right outside. I was on my way back to work so I didn't have time to find the owner. If anyone knows anything about this ride I'd like to post details. Please leave a comment if you know where to find more info!

Looks like the lean angle may be a little hindered

That is a lot of batteries!

Chip Yates rode a home made electric bike up Pikes Peak not too long ago.

Driving a Jeep around Colorado

Here's another pile of clips from a test of the GoPro HD. It's shot on some country roads and around town. I used the suction mount on the inside of a Jeep's windshield.  Soundtrack is performed by velkro kitty (c) 1995. "Your Lies" and "2 Cents" J. Favero

BMW R1200C Ride

Here's some footage shot with a GoPro HD camera on a suction mount arm. It was taken riding around Windsor, Colorado. I was just testing out the mount and camera settings; definitely a lot to learn still! The soundtrack is "I Don't Care" and "The Angel Song" by velkro kitty (c) 1993 Pete Deichmann, Jim Favero, Paul McCormick.
